DAKOFA - International Waste Website.
This international waste website is hosted and supported by DAKOFA. DAKOFA is the Danish Competence Centre on Waste. DAKOFA is a member organisation for central and local authorities, private organisations, universities, municipal waste companies, waste producers, waste managers, consultancies, suppliers within the waste sector. DAKOFA thus is a member organisation for stakeholders within the waste sector, both public and private organisations.
DAKOFAs has more than 240 member organisations mainly in Denmark, but more and more international organisations are now members as well, which is why DAKOFA has chosen to develop this international waste website in English.
The website will continuously be developed and is at the moment mainly focused on the issue of waste & climate and the closed forum for the waste and climate network.
Knowledge, network and competence!
DAKOFAs goal is to give the waste sector as much knowledge as possible regarding legal, technical and political changes to enable members to develop the necessary competence to remain environmentally and economically competitive. Knowledge and competence is not only information; but also to see changes in a broader strategic framework combined with personal experience. DAKOFA therefore works strategically with dissemination of experience based knowledge through the DAKOFA networks to encourage competence development.
DAKOFA disseminate knowledge through networks, news, workshops, seminars and conferences. DAKOFA hosts both Danish and international conferences.
Be a member of the DAKOFA networks
The membership covers all of the employees in the member organisation, which means that the DAKOFA network adds up to more than 1200 active members. The membership covers:

• To take part in the conferences, seminaries and workshops etc. with a reduced price
• To get involved in the planning of the DAKOFA activities
• Become a member of the networks

• Have influence on DAKOFAs technical input to Danish, European and international legislation and framework.
DAKOFA is part of an international network
DAKOFA is the Danish National Member of ISWA (the international Solid Waste Association) and NAF (the Nordic Waste Association). DAKOFA also coordinates and exchange information with many of the other national member organisations mainly in Europe and the EU waste lobby organisations. DAKOFA is not a lobby organisation, but follows closely the EU waste policy in order to keep our members updated on upcoming changes.
